Pscho-ed/Process Skills Building

Groups of 10-12 professionals will work to improve their skills, heal the past and gain knowledge about themselves and their clients. These are 10-hour days.

They include meals, snacks, intervention materials and time to multilevel process what you have learned. Each group includes assessments, tools, interventions, and practical hands-on experience facilitating groups that you can take back to your
practice. As professionals these groups prepare you for expanding your own practice with groups. A bonus to this type of continuing education is that you will uncover deep blind spots that may be seeping into your sessions through countertransference.

Contemporary Family Systems Training (Blended Families)

Healing the Healer: A 3-Day, 2-Night Intensive for Counselors and Their Partner

This 3-day, 2-night intensive (Friday through Sunday) at Healing Story Ranch is designed specifically for counselors and their partner who want to strengthen and heal their own relationship while gaining continuing education and advanced clinical expertise in two-home family systems.

This immersive experience integrates relationship restoration, countertransference awareness, and advanced clinical training so counselors can deepen both personal and professional capacity.

Participants receive specialized training in:

children of divorce

co-parenting and parallel parenting dynamics

stepfamily and blended family systems

high-conflict and higher-level-of-care family presentations

This intensive focuses on the realities of two-home systems and prepares counselors to recognize when families require more than traditional outpatient models, including appropriate referral pathways and system-level interventions.

Stepfamilies and post-divorce family systems are not the same as first-family structures. They form attachment, loyalty, and conflict patterns differently. Learning to accurately assess and treat these differences is essential for protecting children, reducing professional misalignment, and preventing unintentional harm in therapy.

This training is intentionally designed to heal the counselor’s own relational story while building advanced clinical skill in treating children of divorce, co-parents, stepfamilies, and high-conflict family systems.
